First look at director Juan Pablo Rothie's "Shooting An Elephant," starring Barry Sloane, written by Academy Award Nominated writer, Alec Sokolow, based on the story by George Orwell.

Adapted from George Orwell's autobiographical story - a young British imperial policeman in Burma is given the no-win mission of handling a rogue work elephant, only to find that role he is destined to play is that of public executioner.

An Oscar nominee for his work on "Toy Story", Alec Sokolow has adapted the screenplay from the original story by George Orwell ("1984", "Animal Farm", "Burmese Days").

"The Whispers" & "Revenge" star, Barry Sloane, leads the cast along with David Kaye (V.O.) and support from Nepalese actors Jeewan Adhikary and Sheelpa Maskey.

The film is being produced by Juan Pablo Rothie, Alec Sokolow and DJ Daljit Parma (India), and co-produced by Harish Amin of Speaking Tree Pictures.

Arlene & Alan Alda, Mubashir Kazi, Adam Monier Edwards, George Okagaki, Gregory & Susanne Scherman, Barry Sloane, Aura Williams and Mortimer Zuckerman are serving as executive producers.

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes director of photography Daron Keet ("The Ghost and the Darkness"), casting By Lynn Kressel, CSA ("Spider-Man, "Bad Boys") and Tess Joseph - Nepal ("Life of Pi"), production design by Pradip Redij ("The Darjeeling Limited", "The Bourne Supremacy"), costume design by Riyazali Merchant ("The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel") and music composed by legendary punk rock artist Greg Kuehn ("T.S.O.L").

This film was shot entirely on-location in Nepal.
